TALK AT AWARDS EVENING 1 DECEMBER 2015

BEING A MEMBER OF THE YOUNG CARERS MEANS A LOT TO ME.

WHEN I FIRST JOINED YOUNG CARERS ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO I WAS A PERSON WHO WAS SHY, INSECURE AND RARELY, IF EVER, SOCIALISED.

THE LONGER I WAS ATTENDING YOUNG CARERS I BEGAN TO NOTICE A CHANGE IN ME, I WAS BECOMING MORE SELF CONFIDENT AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE FRIENDS MORE EASILY.  YOUNG CARERS CARRIED OUT FUN ACTIVITES THAT I WAS NOT AWARE OF AND PROBABLY NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE, SUCH AS SAILING, A ONSIE WALK, A FUN HUNT AROUND WINNAL, THE THEATRE ROYAL AND MANY MORE.

WITH THAT NEW FOUND CONFIDENCE AND THROUGH A FRIEND, I APPLIED TO JOIN THE ARMY CADET FORCE.

I  AM A MEMBER OF 5 (WINCHESTER) PLATOON OF THE ARMY CADET FORCE. WITHIN THE CADET FORCE IS THE SAME RANK STRUCTURE AS IN THE REGULAR ARMY AND IT IS MY AMBITION TO PROGRESS UP THROUGH THE RANKS.

BY JOING I HAVE FOUND THAT I AM A STRONGER PERSON WHO IS A TEAM PLAYER.

WITHOUT MY INITIAL CONTACT AND MEMBERSHIP OF YOUND CARERS I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD THE CONFIDENCE TO JOIN THE CADETS.

I CONSIDER THAT YOUNG CARERS ARE A SECOND FAMILY TO ME AND WHEN POSSIBLE I WOULD WISH TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP OTHER YOUNG CARERS.I WOULD ESPECIALLY LIKE TO THANK, ANNA, STEW, BEN, DANNIE, MADDIE AND THE REST OF THE TEAM  BECAUSE WITHOUT DANNIE DOING BEFREINDER WITH ME.  ALSO BEN AND ANNA FOR SETTING UP THE ACTIVITES AND THE REST OF THE TEAM FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND FREINDSHIP.
